BOGOF Promotion Set Up

Before you start, make sure you have any rules you need set up before creating the promotion

  1. Make sure you are in an Open Change package.
  2. Go to Merchandising > Promotions and click 'Add New'
  3. Fill in the promotion name as per your details, ensuring you choose the correct store - if you are creating a number of promotions for the same or similar things, enter a Group Name and remember this for your next promotion
  4. Choose and Start on and Expire On date, Maximum applications will default as 1, but this can be changed if you want to allow it to fire more than once in a single basket. The priority indicates which promotion to fire first if other promotions are allowed to fire.
  5. Choose which environments the promotion should fire in, mostly this will be Web and Telesales
  6. Choose whether to allow other promotions to fire, normally this will be 'No' - you do not need to create vouchers for this promotion, so leave that drop down as 'None'
  7. Enter a basket message which the customer/agent will see in the basket
  8. Next, click 'Promotion Rules'
  9. Choose where this promotion will apply, for this type of promotion it will be 'Products in Basket'
  10. Then choose the 'Buy one get one free' Promotion type
  11. You don't need to enter a minimum basket value, as the promotion is based on the price of the product. Make sure 'Include conditions for this promotion' is ticked.
  12. Click 'Add New Rule'
  13. In the popup that appears, search for the rule you need
  14. Click 'Add' and this will be assigned to the promotion.
  15. Continue to do this until all of the rules have been added.
  16. If you need to add a landing page, click the 'Landing Page' tab and tick box - then fill in the details as required.
  17. Once completed, click 'Save' and the promotion will be ready for testing and publishing
  18. When the customer adds 2 of the product to the basket, it will remove the price of one of them
