How to use Remote Desktop

You should always consult the service desk if you think you're in need of using Remote Desktop


  • Open the Remote Desktop application. To do this, you can search for it in the windows search bar (bottom left)



  • In the "Computer" box, type the name of the computer you'd like to connect to (DO NOT CONNECT TO THE COMPUTER SHOWN, THIS IS JUST AN EXAMPLE)
  • Enter your username (first 4 last 4 format) for example "John Smith" would be "johnsmit"
  • Once you have done this, click connect and a credential box should pop up as shown

  • Enter the same password that you use to login into your computer with
  • After this, you should successfully be connected to the computer
