Bulk Remove Vouchers previously redeemed onto accounts

Occasionally we need to bulk remove vouchers from customer accounts. For example, if vouchers have been bulk uploaded in error we can use the following process to remove all the vouchers without involvement from IT or messing with the customer database.

1. Ask the ECommerce Team to create a voucher promotion with a voucher value of £0.01. We tend to simply re-use an old voucher with the promotion name "11.28_£0 Voucher" and just update the expiry date/time.
2. The voucher must be in date with enough time left on it for the processes to run but ideally with an expiry meaning it's no longer there when any email goes to that customer. A judgement will need to be made based on how many customers are in the run and how long the batch process is likely to take.
3. Generate enough extra vouchers to cover the volume of people you need to remove.
4. Set up the bulk voucher upload list with all the customer numbers and £0.01 voucher codes on it and the replace_code of TRUE
5. Run this list through the bulk uploader tool in the usual way. The existing voucher on the customers' accounts will be replaced with the £0.01 voucher which will then expire as per the date/time laid out in point 2 above.
