No email address format & Suspending accounts

Please follow the below format when setting up accounts for customers who do not have an email address. This will make it easier to search for and will hopefully always be unique.

 

firstname.surname.postcode@vwtemp.co.uk

 

Please ensure you use the same format for both Virgin and Daily Mail customers.

 

ALL email addresses MUST end @vwtemp.co.uk

 

If you do not follow this format is causes no end of issues for IT as the email addresses are not valid.

 

If you need to completely close down an account for a customer, because they are never going to use us again, either through health or wellbeing reasons, or due to a complaint, then use the following format. 

 

close.firstname.surname.postcode@vwtemp.co.uk 

 

You must also 'Suspend' the account on Telesales.

 

This is NOT to be used for basic cancelling of memberships, or for unsubscribing customers who may still want to use us in the future. 

 

So if the customer has more than one account and the others have been closed this makes it easier to identify when searching for an account with a postcode.

 

Please also remember to...

  • Unsubscribe the customer on BM (Customer Preferences - Tab 3 – Communications)
  • Deactivate the card (s) on the account
  • Remove from any Continuity or WineBank Club
  • Change the Account Status from Active to Disabled
