CSV template - bulkAverageCost.csv
1. Before you start you must make sure your in the staging environment and are in an open change package.
2. Go to Tasks → Bulk average cost.
2. Click choose file.
3. Add your CSV file using the correct format see attached template for example (bulkAverageCost.csv). You must only enter Z sku's in to the product_code section if you enter a Y sku it will error when the task is executed.
4. Once you CSV has been added click 'execute task'.
5. Once that has been done click on the jobs tab. If the jobs tab has not appeared them refresh your page and it should show.
6. Here you will find a list of all the completed bulk average cost jobs. To find out whether the average prices you wished to change have were successful or not find the job you just completed and click Details → Get report. If the job is showing as 'unknown' then keep refreshing the page because this means the job is still running.
7. Report will download and you can then load it up to see weather the average prices you wanted to update have been done or not. If successful it will show in 'status_message' but if it failed you will see an error in this field and a comment regarding it.
8. Possible errors to look out for:
- If average price column is left blank on CSV it will error, here is an example of the error status message it will show on the report 'Update average cost for product Z34524100826 is in the wrong format.java.lang.NumberFormatException'
- If the Z sku you entered on the CSV does not exist it will error here is an example of the error status message it will show on the report 'Product Z43156744335 does not exist.'
- If you enter a Y sku on the CSV it will error here is an example of the error status message it will show on the report 'Product Y19613VIRGI3 is of type pre_mixed_wine_cases and cannot be edited by the average cost updater.'
