This section will describe how sitemap file can be configured without code changes. File is generated daily.
It is good practice test all changes in our Test environment to make sure it is working as expected.
Pages
It is possible to configure which page is included in the sitemap file by going to Back Office -> content -> pages -> search for page eg. Spirit Home then click on it and check Included the site map.
Page URL is composed from URL segment filed so it worth to check if it is correct. We may have some redirects setup so please check that as well.
Facets
It is possible to configure what facets we want to include per product type without code change.
This is can be done by updating store_config table. Probably best is test that first in Testing environment then ask data team to update the live system.

Exclude some URLs
We can exclude some URLs from the file. Most of the links in the sitemap are generated automatically so we may want to exclude some URLs.
This can be done by editing vwshopExcludeUrls.txt file which is stored on the server - please talk to our sys admins to get latest copy - Please see below example of the file.
