This guide explains how to get the VPN set up on Linux running in the Gnome desktop.

You will need to be set up on Duo Mobile by a member of the IT Support team before following any of the below. If you change phones you will also need to contact IT.

Please raise a JIRA ticket or call 2222 if you need to be set up. The same is true if you are unsure if you are set up.

Connecting to the VPN is pretty straightforward. You can use the network-manager-openconnect-gnome package to configure and connect to the VPN.

First, let’s install the required packages

sudo apt install -y network-manager-openconnect-gnome

Next, let’s configure the VPN connection. Start by clicking the network icon located at the top-right of the screen and selecting the “settings” option.

You should be on the network tab. If so, click the plus sign just above the VPN section.

You should be met with a pop-up with some options depending on what you already have installed. Select “Multi-protocol VPN client (openconnect)”

You should now have the main configuration screen visible. Please see the screenshot below for the correct configuration settings. Once complete, click the IPv4 tab.

Configure the IPv4 settings then move onto the IPv6 tab.

Note, DNS should be: 10.10.0.15,10.20.0.15.

You can disable IPv6

Finally, click the Add button to lock in the configuration. You can also grab the Certificate Authority from here.
