Preorders require a bit of setting up and tweaking.

...

Info

I have already set up a dummy bottle for preorders to be used against in the test environment - the sku for this is P10000000000, in training environment the dummy bottle is P10000000

  1. Firstly, you will need to build a case to use,all pre-orders are purchased through the CASE Sku (Y sku) - the bottle will never be able to be purchased on it's own and should not be used for purchases. For testing, you can use any Case Sku that is available on Website and Telesales.
  2. Ensure you are in an Open Change package in Staging.
  3. Go to Merchandising > Products and search for the Case sku you have set up.
  4. Click to View the product information, scroll down to the 'Availability State' and select 'Preorder' from the drop down
  5. Then choose a release date - it does not matter what this date is for testing
  6. Select 'Fixed' as the Pre-order price rule then save your progress.
  7. After saving these changes, go to the Case prices from the top left hand navigation
  8. You will see a section for Preorder deposits, choose 'Fixed' from the deposit type drop down and enter 12.00 as the deposit amount.
  9. Save the product again and copy the Sku code.
  10. To assign this preorder case Sku to an individual bottle, go to Merchandising>Products. Search for the sku listed above (Or you can use any other wine bottle Z sku)
  11. When on the product information, in the left hand navigation click 'Attributes'

  12. Scroll down on the attributes page until you get to the  'Preorder 6 bottle Product code' and 'Preorder 12 bottle product code' - Paste in the case Sku code and save the product.
  13. Stock must be allocated for the bottle and case in the pre-order fulfilment route.
  14. The products are now ready immediately in the staging environment, or publish the change package to the Working environment. (unless you are in training which is a standalone environment and requires no publishing)
  15. In the website, if the page for the presell has not been created, you can view the preorder by searching for any bottle, viewing the details and amending the URL to contain the Preorder Bottle SKU code - eg. https://qa1.virginwines.co.uk/vwshop/product/P10000000000/Perez-Cruz-Winemakers-Selection - note, you do not need to change the bottle name as this makes no difference. When you are on the page, you will see the reservation section, if you click 'reserve' - this adds the CASE sku to your basket, the bottle does nothing.
  16. In Telesales, you need to search for the Case Sku to order the reservation
  17. When the presell is ready to be shipped, the availability of the case needs updating to 'Available' then published through and moved to the normal Customer Services or Website stock locations and then the preorder processor will pick it up
  18. The batch can now be run - instructions for this can be found HERE
